Trojan Cycle Club of Berbice rider Jeban Crawford rode to victory in
the feature 35-lap school boys and invitation race which brought proceedings down on the 10th annual Diamond Mineral Water 11-race meet at the National Park, yesterday.
It was the first time that the young Berbician recorded victory in the main event at the National Park, clocking One Hour 17 Minutes 10 Seconds to win from veteran Horace Burrowes, Paul De Nobrega, Akeem Wilkinson, Christopher Griffith and Paul Choo-Wee-Nam, the top six finishers.
Crawford and Burrowes established themselves as main contenders deep in the contest and despite De Nobrega’s late surge in attempting to connect, the duo held their own. Burrowes won thereof the eight sprint prizes which were on offer. Choo-Wee-Nam accounted for two with one apiece to Mario King, Orville Hinds and Crawford.

Marketing Assistant of Demerara Distillers Limited, Ms. Devica Jhagdeo assisted with the presentation of trophies and prizes. Organiser, National Coach Hassan Mohamed conveyed gratitude to Ms. Jhagdeo and DDL for their continued support while commending the riders.
Next on the cycling agenda is the Starr Party Rentals National Park Meet this Saturday, while on Sunday in the Cinderella County of Essequibo, the 3rd and final leg of the Cheddi Jagan Memorial Road Race series will be contested.
