With less than a month to go for the Guyana Cup Fever 2015 Horserace meet, the organisers have released the provisional programme for the big occasion.
Organised by the Port Mourant Turf Club in collaboration with the Jumbo Jet Auto sales and racing stables with business in Berbice and Demerara, the meet is set for Sunday 5th April.
Eight races are on the cards with over $10M in cash, trophies and other incentives up for grabs.
The programme show that the organisers are also moving in line to implement a number of new initiatives taken recently by those in the horseracing fraternity with the rating and class of the animal being taken into consideration.
A look at the provisional programme will show the feature event is for horses classified D1 and Lower for a winning take of $1.5 and a combined purse of $2,820,000.
The F1 and lower event will also feature three year old West Indies and Guyana bred colts, fillies and mares for a winning total prize of $940,000 and trophy.
There is an event for West Indies and Guyana bred three year old animals including colts and fillies also for a total prize of $940,000 and trophy.
The G1 and lower event will also feature West Indies and Guyana bred colts, fillies and mares for a combined purse of $750,000 and trophy.
The Guyana Bred three year old colts, mares and fillies will have their chance at competing for a total prize package of $560,000 ad trophy.
The event for I1 & Lower animals and Guyana bred 2yrs old colts, fillies and mares will be racing for a winning package of $470,000 and trophy.
The final race will be for animals classified J2 and lower and Guyana bred colts, fillies and mares will run for a total purse of $375,000.
The events will be held under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority.
