Ganesh Parts and General Store of Robb Street, Lacytown yesterday joined the other sponsors to aid the success of the Kennard’s Memorial Horserace meet set for tomorrow at the club’s racetrack at Bush Lot Farm,

Managing Director of the company, Roop Persaud, said they are happy to be associated with the Kennard’s Turf Club’s annual horserace meet and this year is no different.
Horseracing he said is part of the Guyanese culture, regardless of ethnicity, culture or creed.
Persaud noted that his company has not only been contributing to horseracing but has been assisting tremendously with the development of other sports over the years.
He thanked all for their support of the company.
Persaud presented a cheque for $300,000 that will be awarded to the winner of the seven-furlong race for horses classified ‘G1 and Lower.

Meanwhile, Metro Stationary and Office Supplies also yesterday made their contribution to the Meet.
The company donated $120,000 that will go towards the first prize money for the winner of the five-furlong race for horses classified ‘K’.
Chief Executive Officer of Metro, Avia Maria Lindie, stated that her company has always been supportive of activities of the Kennard’s Memorial Turf Club over the years.
“Our company is pleased to partner with Kennard’s Turf Club as we have a long standing relationship with them”, adding “we are very pleased to be a part of any activity the club has and we are committed to continuing our support.”
Kennard informed that Metro has been onboard with the club for over 20 years and “even though the size of the sponsorship might not be large, Kennard’s Turf Club is very thankful for the support offered by the company”.
Kennard informed that it is the company’s president Ron Ramnarayan that was instrumental in Kennard’s Turf Club getting this support.
