There seems never to be a dull moment in football and just when it appeared as though the Normalization
Committee has managed to restore some order to the sport, President of the Georgetown Football Association (GFA), Vernon Burnette, has dispatched a resignation letter to the Presidents of the affiliated clubs of the GFA.
The correspondence was bland and did not give any particular reason for his decision even though the former GFA boss did express regrets for having to make such a decision. Below is the full text of the correspondence:
Presidents Affiliated Clubs Georgetown Football Association
Dear Sir/Madam,
Letter of Resignation from the Georgetown Football Association
It is with much regret that I have made this difficult decision to resign as the President of the Georgetown Football Association with effect March 31st, 2015.
It has been both a difficult and complex period for the football fraternity, however at the same time we have made great strides within the various Leagues and competitions. More specifically, the standard of play within our team has improved significantly.
It has been a wonderful experience to be a part of such a professional organization working along with the clubs and their membership. I would like to thank all the players, clubs and fellow executive members for their support, loyalty, professionalism and passion they demonstrated towards the game.
Special thanks to the coaches for their hard work and dedication and also the loyal fans who made competition enjoyable. Finally, I would like to make myself available to assist the executive if the need arises. I wish to thank everyone for granting me the opportunity and privilege to serve.
Yours Sincerely,
Vernon Burnett
(President GFA)
