Phagwah was celebrated on the lawns of the Indian Cultural Centre at 67 Bel-Air, New Haven, Georgetown, yesterday.
President Donald Ramotar, Prime Minister Samuel Hinds, Government Ministers, politician Basil Williams and special invitees were among those attending the festivities.
At the event all were involved in Phagwah celebrations with colour powder, water pistols and music. There were also dances on stage to entertain the invitees.
There were liberal exchanges of abeer and abrak while many celebrated with wet and dry methods. President Ramotar extended Phagwah greetings to all while noting that the country had been transformed and much more infrastructural developments will be done to progress the nation.
According to Acting Indian High Commissioner, Madhumita Sengupta, the time has come to spread the Holi cheer and to add some colour to life.
