Yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court two friends were ordered to post $25,000 surety each after they were charged with assaulting each other.
The charge stated that on February 28, at Waterfront Kwakwani, Upper Mazaruni River, Hasley John and Maranda McCoy, assaulted each other so as to cause actual bodily harm.
They both pleaded not guilty to the charge after it was read to them by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.
The prosecution did not provide any facts about what occurred on the day in question to the court.
The duo was ordered to attend counseling and the matter was transferred to the Kwakwani Magistrate’s Court for March 13.
