Guyana’s largest mortgage financing entity, New Building Society, has announced the appointment of a new chief.
According to the Society’s Chairman, Floyd Mc Donald yesterday, Operations Manager, Anil Kishun will take over the helm from tomorrow March 1st.
Kishun, in addition to his post as Operations Manager, also served in other managerial capacities, including that of Manager of the Rosignol Branch Office, East Berbice.
Kishun, who joined the Society on July 1, 1996, replaces Ahmad M. Khan who will proceed on retirement with effect from today, February 28.
Khan, according to NBS, has served the Society with distinction.
“Under his watch, the Society’s new chief office was erected. The Society also strengthened its financial position to better serve the housing needs of the Guyanese population.”
With thousands of new homes being built annually under Government’s housing drive; NBS commands a significant portion of the mortgage financing market.
“The Board of Directors, Management and staff sincerely thank him for his services and wish him all the best during his retirement.”
Mr. Anil Kishun who would now be at the helm of the Society is eminently qualified.
He holds a CPA (US Uniform Certified Public Accountant) and also an MBA (Master in Business Administration) from the Australia Institute of Business.
The attention has been on NBS in recent times after three Managers accused the institution of sacking them unfairly. That matter is engaging the attention of the High Court.
