On Sunday last at the YMCA, Thomas Lands, the Association do
Shotokan Karate – Guyana (ASK-G) hosted its annual National championships to celebrate Mashramani which has been deemed a success.
Entertaining performances from the young karatekas punctuated a satisfying day which saw competition KATA and KUMITE in the following age groups, 6-8, 9-11, 12-14 and 15-17 years as well as adults 18-44 years, both males and females.
Presenting the medals to the outstanding performers was Ms. Tracey Lewis, General Manager of the Guyana Lottery Company Limited,
Judges on the day were Roger Peroune, Bhagwandin Persaud, Parmeshwar Persaud, Laurence Lowe and Patrick Gurahoo. Chairman of ASK-G, Sensei Amir Khouri was the tournament co-ordinator and Chief Judge.
ASK-G is expressing thanks to all who assisted in making the day a success including Ms. Lewis, YMCA, Mr. Gregory Camacho, the Judges and Table Officials: Ms. Miller, Jailall, Realine, Ramoodit.
