Regal defeated Speedboat by six wickets to claim the Georgetown Cricket

Club (GCC) softball open softball title on Sunday night last at Bourda.
Batting first, Speedboat posted 100-9 off their allotted 10 overs. Anand Bharrat led with 42 while Shazim Hussain made 16 and Ganesh Narine 12. Mohamed Ayube grabbed 3-20, Mohamed Rafeek 3-30 and Delroy Perreira 2-11.
Regal responded with 102-4 in 8.3 overs. Chien Gittens cracked 37, while man of the match Ayube made 23. Imran Mohamed took 2-10.
In the female final, Trophy Stall Angels overcame 4R Lioness by six wickets. 4R Lioness took first strike and managed 36-4 in five overs. Trophy Stall Angels replied with 37-4 in 4.2 overs.
At the presentation ceremony, captain of GCC, the Caribbean’s oldest club- now 165 years, Graeme Ally, congratulated the winners and thanked the other participating teams. He also extended gratitude to Trophy Stall for sponsoring the trophies and said they will host a bigger tournament during the Easter Season.
