Team Coco’s Hamzah Eastman got the better of Team Evolution’s Orville Hinds in the feature 35-lap event when the 24th edition of the R&R International 11-race Cycle Meet came off on Saturday last at the Mecca of the sport, the inner circuit of the National Park.
Eastman stopped the clock at One Hour 15 Minutes 03 Seconds to top Hinds, Alonzo Ambrose, Mark Harris, Mario King and Akeem Wilkinson who closed out the top six in that order.
In other results, Junior Niles continued to dominate the veteran’s Under-50 category winning from Jaikaran Sookhai and Wilbert Benjamin, second and third respectively. Linden Blackman was the lone contestant in the Over-50 category. Wilfred Thom won the veterans’ Over-60 event.
Alexander Leung rode won the BMX Boys 6-9 race with Shay Su-Hang and Esau Jaisingh following in that order. The unstoppable Sherwin Sampson was his usual self again in the BMX Boys 9-12 race, crossing the line ahead of Jonathon Jagdeo.
Sampson was the rider to beat yet again in the BMX Boys 12-14 category and he showed his superiority to win from Adealie Hodge and Thuran Garbarran. Davenand Kapilnauth topped the field in the 12-14 Boys and Girls race and was followed by Daniel Pereria and Rakem Blair.
Jaleel Jackson came up tops ahead of Romallo Crawford and Jamal John in the Juvenile 10-lap contest while Seon Budhan was the winner of the Mountain Bike showdown.
