GCA/Hadi’s World City Mall Inc first division…
Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) grabbed first innings from Police, while GNIC and Guyana Defence Force
(GDF) played to a tame draw when the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/Hadi’s World City Mall Inc first division two-day competition continued last weekend.
At Bourda, Police batted first and were bowled out for 144. Ricardo Adams slammed 52 as left arm spinner Raj Nanan snared 5-48 and Winston Forrester 2-5. GCC replied with 238-8. Joshua Wade stroked 72, while Ronaldo Mohammed retired hurt on 54 after he was hit on the head by pacer Seon Daniels, Martin Pestano Belle chipped in with 38 and Robin Bacchus 28. Daniels took 4-44 and Adams 2-38.
Batting a second time, Police were sent packing for 159. Royan Fredericks cracked 53; Daniels scored 47 and Pernell London 20. Nanan captured 4-40 to finish with match figures with 9-88 and Forrester 3-33. Set 71 to win GCC ended on 31-1.
At Everest, GNIC batted first and posted 210-4 declared. Ryan Shun struck 102 not out (14×4), Jermaine Grosvenor slammed 50 (4×4,2×6) and Stephon Campbell 20. Randy Lindore claimed 3-74. GDF were 68-3 at stumps on the final day. Damien Ross scored 44 (6×4,1×6); Collins Butts, Jason George and Orlando Kirton had one wicket each. The entire first day’s play was rained out.
