A sorry David Rose was subjected to a 12-0 licking by St. Rose’s High, the most lop-sided win so far in this year’s Nestle Milo Under-20 Schools Football Competition which continued yesterday, at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Action in the clash between St. George’s and Brickdam Secondary in yesterday’s fixtures of the Nestle Milo Under-20 Schools Football Competition.
They were led to victory by Shaquan Williams, who netted in the-49th, 58th, 60th and 62nd minutes, while Nathan Saul in the-1st, 16th and 25th, Kegan Howard-19th and 32nd, Dexter Nelson-50th, Jermaine Jack-59th and Dominique Dolphin-64th completed their tally.
Saul was the player to commence the insurgence when he netted in first minute, poking in from inside the six yard area.
He doubled his tally in the 16th minute after firing in his effort into the lower left hand corner after collecting a pass from the right side.
Three minutes later, Howard nonchalantly prodded home following a weak clearance from a right side cross by the goalkeeper that landed at his feet to make it 3-0.
Saul completed his hat-trick in the 25th minute to add further misery to their opponents when he cleverly dinked his shot over the keeper’s head from the right flank to make it a 4-0 lead in the first half.
In full attack mode, Howard made it 5-0 after 32 minutes with a fierce right footed effort that came off the right upright and bounced over the line.
With a comeback seemingly a difficult proposition, David Rose caved in further and conceded a further seven goals, before the final whistle sounded to end their misery.
In the day’s opener, Morgan Learning Centre fired four goals past Christ Church with Ronaldo Dover netting in the 20th, 42nd and 54th minutes.
Wayne Murray had given them the lead in the 3rd minute.
The second fixture saw newcomers St. Joseph’s squeeze past Kingston 1-0 Lancelot Barker’s 18th minute strike separating the teams.
Former champs St. George’s, despite losing a few players from the last competition, continued their unbeaten run by beating Brickdam 6-0.
Romel Persaud’s own goal had given them the lead after 14th minute, before Travis Cottam booted in a brace in the 56th and 65th minutes.
