Dear Editor,
The marginalization and disrespect for Barticians from this vindictive and oppressive regime compounded with the imposition of the illegal Interim Management Committee (IMC) is of grave concern.
The REO’s authoritarian behaviour suggests that this pattern of behavior is demonstrating total disrespect for accountability to the residents for their monies.
This REO authorized $1M to be spent on a private individual business intended to be an Ice cream parlour on First Avenue, Bartica. To make the matter incriminating the contractor is the said individual who is also the contractor. This is how shameless and barefaced these villains are. Upon investigation I discovered that the recipient of this undeserved gift is closely related to an activist of the PPP/C and the infamous IMC.
This is a regular feature involving this recipient who was fingered in a road construction project and collected another hefty sum of $ 1.5M a job which never saw completion..This is only the tip of the iceberg.
There is a resource center constructed at Byderabo which remains closed. When would this be opened for use, given the cost and the location of the computers? I only hope it is not at the home of some shady character.
As I pen this missive a culvert is being constructed in Second Street, Bartica by the chairman of the IMC. I am sure from what I have observed, this man has no knowledge of constructing culverts.
