A seminar organized by Maritime Administrative Department (MARAD), has benefitted boat operators from Region Five (5) Mahaicony. The venue was the Mahaicony Health Centre.
Twenty boat operators from the Mahaicony Creek attended the seminar during which they were engaged in practical exercises.
Safety practices such as, the importance of both the passengers and boat operators wearing life jackets were some of the topics presented in the seminar.
MARAD in its efforts to promote safety on the waterways of Guyana especially for small boat operators will be facilitating the training seminar as an ongoing countrywide campaign.
