A man was taken into custody early yesterday by police ranks following a report that he repeatedly sodomized a teenage boy in his house at Timehri, East Bank Demerara (EBD).
A senior police source yesterday confirmed that the teenager will be taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) to have a medical examination done.
According to information received, a Timehri resident went to the police station in the area and made a report of a male teen was being sexually and physically molested on a daily basis.
A senior official said, that the resident informed the ranks that a villager had locked up the teenager in his house since December last and has been molesting him.
The resident reportedly told police that the suspect would also beat the teen and starve him for days.
Following the report, ranks went to the location and removed the teen.
The man has been arrested and is assisting with the investigation.
The young man, according to the official, is traumatized and can hardly speak.
Investigations are ongoing.
