The Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHPA) has issued a public warning against fraudsters who are in the practice of selling house lots while pretending to be employed with the CHPA.
In a notice published recently the CHPA said that it has unearthed a scam involving hundreds of thousands of dollars. A former rural Constable, Leon Wayne is alleged to have swindled numerous persons in this scam.
The CHPA has asked persons who may have been scammed by Mr. Wayne to check with the CHPA to assist with the ongoing investigations.
