The Blairmont Cricket Club which is part of the Blairmont Community Centre had its Annual General Meeting (AGM) last week Wednesday at the Blairmont Community Centre, West Bank Berbice at which officers were elected to serve for the year 2015.
Those elected to serve are: President- Shabeer Baksh, first vice president Rudolph Doodnauth, second vice president Omesh Prashad, third vice president, Nigel Trotz, secretary Chunilall Sansasi, treasurer Shizad Ali, assistant secretary /treasurer Mohamed Samad, while the Blairmont Estate will be represented by Richardo Bachan.
Baksh, who is serving his fifth year as president in an address to the gathering stated, that the Blairmont Cricket Club has moved from strength to strength over the last four years. He said that it is his intention to continue building and maintaining proper cricket structures and systems for 2015.
He stated that this year things will be intense and a calendar of activities will be planned as soon as possible. He urged that plenty emphasis be placed on the youths so that they could be better cricketers and individuals of the community, since they are the foundation of the club.
He, urged the other executive members to pull their weight and to work together in the interest of the club.
An executive committee meet is to be convened shortly to formalize other committees and streamline a programme to chart the way forward. (Samuel Whyte)
