Transport Sports Club (TSC) and Bel Air Rubis recorded victories when the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/Banks Malta Supreme U-13 competition continued on Saturday last at Muslim Youth Organisation ground.
TSC overcame Malteenoes SC by 33 runs. Batting first MSC managed 231-6 of their allocation of 25 overs. Kyle Solomon made 14, while extras contributed a healthy 85. Tony Ajodha claimed 2-10. TSC replied with 264-8 in 25 overs. Anthony Hetsburger struck 24. Extras totaled 90 as Stephon Sankar captured two wickets.
Bel Air overcame Georgetown Cricket Club by 158 runs. GCC were limited to 97 after suffering 17 dismissals in 25 overs. Extras top scored with 90. Damien Mohamed snared 4-2, Michael Pooran and Shivnanand Gosein picked up three each, while Andrew Samaroo had 2-4. Bel Air scored 255-10 in 25 overs. Daveanand Khemraj stroked 26, while extras weighed in with 105. Jevon Warnell took 3-13 and Ricardo Phillips 2-14.
The competition regulations provide for each team to commence its innings with 200 runs and batsmen shall bat in pairs for five-over block. Batsmen shall have unlimited lives, but each dismissal shall result in 10 runs being deducted from the total.
