Dear Editor,
First of all I am a Guyanese and I love this country. I have lived abroad for very many years, but cannot ever forget Guyana and its people whom I love dearly.
I started to visit Guyana about seven years ago on a regular basis, and on every occasion since then, I have found a steady decline and degeneration of the people, especially the African Guyanese. They have been marginalized and humiliated by the government and Administration.
There is no doubt, and it is clear to see that the present PPP government blames the African Guyanese for the faults of Burnham and his government.
I knew Burnham and Jagan and the other militants and even the President who gave me words of encouragement on my Trade Union struggle. I respect him.
I exist because of the two races and I love both. I boast of the magnificent civilization of both Africa and India long before the Europeans and Europe attained civilization. Both Africa and India made my existence possible and I am a son of both.
My grandmother taught me about India and my grandfather about Africa. In the European world, both Africans and East Indians are black people.
I can write and let my heart speak more but the tears keep coming and I seem to have lost my way because of the tears.
One thing for certain, Beware of the Chinese. The PPP Government is treading a dangerous path. Guyana could end up being a colony of China.
The Chinese are an insidious force in their quest to colonise former colonies in their competition with the U.S.A and European Union. The PPP, regrettably, is blindly helping them to colonise Guyana.
The East Indian and all others will be squeezed out of business and China will control the political economy of Guyana.
May God Bless All Guyanese
Maurice Allen
