First round of the Parbattie Jaggai Memorial Inter Secondary School Under-17 cricket competition bowled
off last Friday with Central Corentyne Secondary defeating Black Bush Polder Secondary by an innings and 74 runs.
Batting first Central Corentyne Secondary were bowled out for 138 in 22 overs. Colwyne Lyte 28 and Filon Crandon 22 were the top scorers. Bowling for Black Bush Polder Secondary D. Parmanand took 6 for 47 in 9 overs and G. Bhagrath 2 for 20 off 3 overs.
In reply Black Bush Polder Secondary were sent packing for 37 all out in 10 overs. Filon Crandon returned with the ball and took 6 for 11 in 5 overs and Juwaan King 3 for 14 off 4 overs. Second innings follow on Black Bush Polder Secondary did not improve in their batting and were bowled out for 27 runs with Juwaan King ripping through the batting line up taking 7 wickets for 3 runs.
Meanwhile, the match between Tagore Memorial Secondary and Skeldon Line Path Secondary was rescheduled for today at the Tagore ground due to heavy rain in the Upper Corentyne area last week. Second round fixtures for Friday will see Skeldon High (Lutheran) VS Skeldon Line Path Secondary at Scottsburg and Tagore
Memorial Secondary VS Central Corentyne Secondary at Tagore.
