K&S organization to host wake tomorrow
CONCACAF President Jeffrey Webb has extended condolences to the Guyana Football Federation
Normalisation Committee on the recent passing of former Treasurer, Aubrey Henry.
In a letter addressed to Chairman of the GFF Normalisation Committee, Clinton Urling, Webb said that Henry would always be remembered as a highly valuable and respected member of our team and will be greatly missed.
”We express our sincerest condolences to his family and friends as we join them in honoring his memory,” Webb concluded.
Henry also rendered services to the Guyana Boxing Board of Control (GBBC) as its Treasurer a few years ago. President of that organization, Peter Abdool, said that he was shocked to hear of Henry’s untimely passing.
He said that his organization had benefitted from Henry’s expertise in the finance department when he was at the GBBC a few years ago. “On behalf of myself and fellow executives of the GBBC, I’d like to express deepest sympathy to his wife, children, the football fraternity and all affected by his passing,” Mr. Abdool said.
Meanwhile, Henry who also served as Treasurer of the Kashif & Shanghai up to the time of his passing would be remembered at a wake the
organization has organised for tomorrow evening. Kaieteur Sport was informed that the wake would be held at the K&S head office, Irving Street Queenstown, at around 19:00hrs tomorrow.
In an earlier message dispatched shortly after Henry’s demise, the principals of the K&S organization had extended deepest condolences to Henry’s wife and children as well as the football family.
”We are left in a state of profound shock; we remember Aubrey as a mild-mannered individual, a gentleman, a warm and sensitive human being and a man who served sports, particularly football, in several capacities, both at the level of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) and otherwise,” the release had said.
They feel that the wake tomorrow night is just a small demonstration of gratitude for the commitment and dedication of the late Henry while he was alive. Henry passed away in the United States of America last week.
