The timely intervention of the Guyana Fire Service around 15: 00hrs yesterday aborted what was
suspected to be an attempted arson attack on the Guyana National Museum.
Kaieteur News was reliably informed that someone placed an old, wooden table in a lunchroom, packed a lot of writing paper on it and poured what was believed to be a mixture of kerosene and other combustible substances on to it. But the small blaze only scorched a section of the interior walls of the museum. This newspaper understands that the matter is being investigated.
