Member of the main opposition party, A Partnership For National Unity, Brigadier David Granger, told a section of Essequibo on Monday, that his Government is interested in inclusiveness.
Brig. Granger, who was holding a meeting at Charity, said that his party has a plan to represent everyone. “Think about the type of Government you want; join the coalition and APNU will represent you.”
Granger said that his primary focus, especially in Pomeroon/Supenaam, would be directed towards economic reform and education. He argued that in the Pomeroon internal roads are needed to facilitate the fluid operation of marketing and distribution.
Granger promised that his party, once elected after the May11, Regional and National Elections, would ensure that villages in the Pomeroon and on the Essequibo Coast would be afforded an opportunity to realized their true potential by the resuscitation of the Guyana Marketing Agency, where farmers would be able to sell their produce.
He said that he would not want production to be stifled; however, Villages would be given the capacity to produce and package their own produce. “We are going to build Community Equity, people are not getting access to equitable development in Guyana, the government is running a police state.”
Granger reminded Essequibians that APNU represents the ordinary people. He encouraged the attendees to come and walk with his party. He said from his findings, it was unearthed that the people of Guyana have vented their disgust of the present Administration. He promises a good life for all Guyanese. “Whatever your race or status, come walk with us.
Granger was accompanied by Members of Parliament, Dr. George Norton, Rennita Williams, Regional Councillors, Prince Shepherd, Linda Duncan, Wazeer Latiff, Sir Takechand Ramnauth and long standing member Ms. Doreen Duncan.
The APNU team made trips to Communities in the Pomeroon River on Sunday.
