In spite of the fact that the insurance industry, both locally and internationally has been facing challenges, the GTM Group of Insurance Companies pleasantly surprised many when it recently launched three new packages. These included the Medical Professionals Club, Special Motor Package and the Homeowners Comprehensive Policy.
The most welcomed event took place on Friday at the Savannah Suite of the Pegasus Hotel. It saw presentations by Gavin Jeffrey who represented its partner company, Automotive Art. Other presentations were delivered by Minister of Health, Dr. Bheri Ramsaran; and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ashni Singh.
GTM’s Managing Director, Roger Yee, delivered the opening remarks and gave an overview of the Medical Professionals Club and the Special Motor Package.
The Medical Professionals Club, he said, provides benefits which are being offered to professionals for the first time in Guyana. He said that in the business world, time is money but in the medical world, time can mean life. It is therefore necessary to ensure that medical professionals are covered.
He said that the Club ensures that they are rewarded and not made to suffer certain inconveniences.
The benefits of the Club include an introductory premium discount of 20 percent, the highest No-Claim discount in Guyana which is up to a maximum of 65 percent, involves accident forgiveness, authorization of repairs, option to insure full value following an accident, free alternative transportation, highest uninsured motorist coverage, highest personal accident insurance, special discounts from Automotive Art, and five percent discount for new tyres and optional emergency air ambulance service.
As for the Motor package, most of the benefits extended to those in the Medical Club will be enjoyed by new car owners.
As for the Homeowners Comprehensive Package, Fire Manager, Ramona Singh said that the GTM prides itself with delivery of excellent service. The policy she said changes the face of quality insurance being offered in Guyana.
What makes it extraordinary, Singh said, is that it provides for coverage due to losses incurred by flood, hurricane, earthquake, windstorms, fire, malicious damage, spontaneous combustion etc.
It provides coverage for buildings, gates, pools, satellite dishes, terraces and household furnishings, personal effects, and jewels among many others.
Dr. Singh and Dr. Ramsaran congratulated the GTM Company at length for the one-of-kind packages and encouraged them to continue in their efforts to lead the insurance industry in Guyana.
