Once again the New Building Society has supported the YWCC annual fundraiser, Mash Cup 2015, the third edition. This eagerly anticipated day of
action and fun will take place on Monday 23rd of February, 2015, a national holiday, and will be of five overs aside. It will involve eleven teams from the No 19/Canje area. The defending champion is Young and Restless. Proceeds from this event will also be donated to fulfill a small project of a mandir, mosque and church within the area.
At a simple ceremony held recently at the New Amsterdam Branch of the Society, Bryan Baker, Supervisor, said that the Society is always charitable and believes strongly in giving back to the community in which they operate to improve the lives of the less fortunate. He added that Society always make significant contributions to the development of sports in the country, referring to the Georgetown Cricket Association and the Berbice Cricket Board NBS Sponsored Second Division Cricket Competitions among others.
In response, Hubern Evans, Senior Coach of the YWCC thanked the NBS and promised that their help is well noted and will truly make a difference in the lives of many. He promised good publicity for all sponsors and a well organised tournament. He encouraged other businesses and private entities to follow suit.
