Incumbent Gregory Rambarran was returned unopposed to lead the Berbice Volleyball Association (BVA) for
another year when that entity held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday last at the Guysuco Training Centre Hostel, Port Mourant.
Rambarran’s Vice President is Godwyn Allicock, former national captain and Coach Levi Nedd will serve as Secretary. Rashad Razack will perform duties as Treasurer and Assistant Secretary, while the Public Relations Officer (PRO) is Udistir Seelochan.
The Committee Members are Eldon Thompson of No 52, Navin Jairam of 3 Doors Strikers, Levan Butchey of Rollers. Two females of the Berbice female team have also been named on the committee; they are Vashti Pooran and Malika Jarvis.
The BVA also named the various committees and committee members that will perform duties during the year.
Competition Committee – Godwyn Allicock (Chairman), Errol Chase, Mahendra Motiepersaud
Selection Committee – Levi Nedd (Chairman), Errol Chase, Parbatan Mangar
Finance Committee – Rashad Razack (Chairman), J. Motiepersaud, Jason Seelochan
Female Development Committee – Levi Nedd (Chairman), Errol Chase, Malika Jarvis, Tamala Felix
Schools Development Committee – Godwyn Allicock (Chairman), Rashad Razack, Satesh Motiepersaud, Satesh Seenauth, Errol Chase
The Association has also drawn up plans for the year in keeping with its motto: – “Committed to promoting and developing Volleyball in Berbice”
Clubs are reminded that the deadline for payment of affiliation fees is February 15 while statutory meetings will be held on the last Sunday of every quarter. The competitions committee will formulate the rules and schedule for the BVA league competition. (Samuel Whyte)
