Two bandits on Monday night held up a mini bus load of passengers, relieving them of all they possessed at the time.
The hold-up occurred just after 21:00 hours on the East Bank Demerara Public Road near the Flour Mill Road, which provided an easy escape for the bandits.
One of the passengers who, was sitting in the front seat of the bus, having joined it at Timehri, told Kaieteur News that the two bandits were picked up in the vicinity of Grove, while the vehicle was heading to the city.
The men positioned themselves strategically in the bus to survey their prey; one sat in the back seat while the other positioned himself in the seat behind the conductor.
The passenger said that his suspicion was aroused when one of the men shouted to the driver and told him to slow down, since they were approaching the Flour Mill Road, which is a notorious spot for bandits to carry out their attack.
When the bus reached the men’s destination, they disembarked and one of them whipped out a gun and ordered all everyone else in the bus to cooperate.
“One come and seh, ‘nobody don’t move. Anybody move, I gon shoot dem’,” the passenger told this newspaper.
The other bandit proceeded to relieve the conductor and other passengers of their cash, phones and other valuables before the two escaped.
