Prince Holder was re-elected unopposed as President of the North Essequibo Cricket Committee when that organisation held its Annual General Meeting recently. Barry Alphanso is the Vice President, Muneshwar Roop will serve as Secretary, Hakim Khan is the Treasurer, Hemant Beharry Assistant Secretary, Nimron Bahadur Assistant Treasurer and Elroy Stephney, Public Relations Officer.
Chevraj Boodram was elected the Organizing Secretary while the Committee Members are Loaknauth Bhagwandeen, Denesh Singh, Chris Collins and Anthony Persaud. The representatives on the Essequibo Cricket Board are Holder and Khan with the alternatives being Stephney and Alphanso. The first executive committee meeting will be held on January 28.
Speaking after the elections, Holder said that the committee will resume all unfinished competitions as soon as the weather improves. He stated that while more sponsorship has been promised, additional focus will be placed on playing three -day competitions.
The president also pointed out that more coaching will be done at the various clubs while thanking their sponsors for the support given.
