A Guyanese woman heading to Barbados aboard a LIAT aircraft did not cater for the scanner at the Ogle International Airport when she tried to smuggle a little over a kilogram of cocaine through the facility yesterday.
The drug was discovered in the false walls of her suitcase.
The bust was made by agents from the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit (CANU) in conjunction with officials from the Guyana Revenue Authority.
According to a reliable source, the woman is cooperating with investigators, but is still expected to be placed before the court as early as tomorrow.
