F and H and Gangster were the successful teams when the Georgetown leg of the Mark Wiltshire Dominoes tournament commenced on Tuesday night last at Turning Point.
F and H tallied 72 games to win their encounter with Rage 59 and Providence 52. Hazim Hakh scored 17 for the winners, while Mark Welch registered 16 and Cargill DeFreitas 14 for Rage. Shawn Davis made 14 and Junior Smith 13 for Providence.
Gangster marked 70 games to overcome Phantom with 64 and Mix Up 55. Seven Collymore led Gangster with 16 games and Dereck Collymore chalked up 14. Brentnol Barker and Rawl Cameron were Phantom’s leading players with 16 and 14 games respectively. Colin Thomas made 15 for Mix Up.
Meanwhile, the competition has received the backing of president of the Georgetown Dominoes Association Faye Joseph, who presented an undisclosed sum to Wiltshire. Joseph wished the teams well and urged that the players remained discipline throughout the tournament. Wiltshire thanked Joseph and said he do look forward to her continued support.
