It takes a stupid person to know another stupid person

Dear Editor,   
The Religious Community and Civic Organizations have a moral responsibility to add their voices in condemnation to the latest outburst of threats by another PPP leader against the people of Guyana.  These words by none other than the President of Guyana – Donald Ramotar against an ordinary citizen is unbecoming of a president and sets the scene for political violence so that the PPP can use its well-tested tool of fear and intimidation to bump up its electoral support.  But who will support the political bullies? The leader of APNU, Mr. David Granger is quite correct to rebuke the President for disrespecting the Amerindians and treating them as if they are not people, but animals.
As the PPP fights to keep the Rupununi region under its belt, they have resorted to the time tested PPP terrorist tools of personal intimidation against those who they think are their opponents.  Just like how the PPP treated the East Indians on Corentyne as being backward in the 1970s and 1980s, by using their well tested tools of threats and physical pressure on them; today those despised threats have switched to the Rupununi region where  poor public policies have resulted in high poverty levels in the Amerindian communities, thus causing the Amerindians to abandon the PPP in droves. The PPP cabal knows that they have lost the support of the Amerindians because of their mistreatment of them during the past twelve years.
Let the records show that the real victims of extreme poverty are the Amerindian people, not those in the PPP. These threats from the PPP leaders are nothing but unproductive and will be unsuccessful, since if they think the Amerindians and the people in general are stupid. The Freedom House gang is clearly misled. The Amerindians are reading the national newspapers, especially Kaieteur News and they are on social media so they are fully aware of the PPP propaganda, distortions and untruths. They will not vote for the PPP which has abused them over the years by treating them as second class citizens. They will not vote for the party of political bullies and for a president who has broken all his promises to them and has ignored their wishes. The Amerindians will not vote for the PPP which has abandoned them and for President Ramotar whose words have no weight in the grand scheme of things because he is being told what to do by the Jagdeoites.
More and more Amerindians and Guyanese on a whole will not support the PPP again in the next election because they have realized that they are getting poorer and friends, relatives and key supporters of the PPP leaders are getting richer at their expense. The Amerindians and Guyanese in general have recognized that there is a major “disconnect” between the general population and the Jagdeo/Ramotar cabal who do not care about the poor and the working class and who are too drunk with power to realize the hurt and frustration and they have brought on the people.
Let the PPP leaders know that the opposition, especially APNU is not stupid to launch into another wave of “slow-fiya, mo-fiya” which feeds into the PPP plan of burning and looting the stores in Regent Street to gain political mileage.  What APNU has been doing is to have small and disciplined demonstrations at targeted locations where everyone knows everyone, thus there is no room for the PPP agent provocateurs to burn and loot stores and rob and rape Indian women and then blame these atrocious acts on members of the opposition. The PPP is very evil and their terrorist plans have been exposed and the opposition and the people can read them like a text book. Simply put, APNU has trounced the deceitful PPP at its own game of spreading fear against blacks in the East Indian communities.
What is becoming very clear is that the PPP leaders are not interested in stopping violence or reducing crime against the people, since they are the main beneficiary of the perpetual crime wave and now these political acts of intimidations, such as the threats against the Amerindian Leaders by a senior PPP apparatchik in the Amerindian Affairs Ministry, Mr. Dharamlal, threats of violence against the Kaiateur News staff by the Attorney General and now the threat against an Amerindian man by none other than the PPP President – Mr. Ramotar.  When will these threats end and when will the PPP start respecting the first peoples of Guyana and stop treating them as second class citizens?
The PPP leaders continue to treat the Amerindians as being a group of docile people who must be told by the PPP officials what to do and what is good for them.
This is the reason why the President has called an Amerindian man stupid and allowed one of his presidential guards to slap another. But we want the president to know that it takes a stupid man to know another stupid man.  So who really is Guyana’s No. 1 stupid man?
