Dear Editor,
I trust that you are well, enjoying good health. At the NIS 45th Anniversary message, the Chairman of the Insurance Scheme revealed that assets exceed $30 Billion and that it meets its more than $1 Billion monthly benefits expenditure, yet pensioners receiving above the minimum rate are yet to receive the eight per cent increase for 2011 and five per cent increase for 2014.
When will we receive what is due to us pensioners? There is a contract that says these increases must be paid yearly, dependent on the AWARD yearly made to all public servants.
I call on all PENSIONERS to come forward, sign a Petition to have our due payment made, and made early.
We should liken our situation to ANGELA DAVIS’s “If they come in morning.” It is suicidal and criminal to remain silent, for if they take you in the morning, they will be coming for us that night.
Let us rise up and challenge this injustice immediately.
J. Mukesh
