Dear Editor,
Muslims comprise of 12% of the total population. The Hindu and Christian communities have members among the ruling and opposition parties.
The Muslim community needs political leaders, Members of Parliament, among others to articulate our position on issues which affect us and represent our interests.
I find this lacking terribly in the main opposition political parties unlike the ruling P.P.P which has five M.P.s who are Muslims.
What I find strange is that members of the Muslim community financially support these opposition groups, retain some of them in their legal matters and provide other forms of assistance. This in my opinion is tantamount to “using” the Muslim community.
Therefore, please inform me who is the Muslim representative in the AFC/APNU, and which Muslim organization or Masjid they are affiliated to so that I could make contact with them.
