While some families are busy preparing for Christmas Day which is just a few days away, one
Essequibo family is preparing to bury its dead.
Paul Gounga, a/k “George”, 53, formerly of Five Miles Moruca, North West District(Region One) died Saturday evening, after he fell from a heavy duty tractor.
The mechanic, who was attached to the Region One Administration for the past 19 years, died at the Kumaka District Hospital before receiving medical attention for injuries to his head and a severed left ear.
His daugther, Zeena Miguel, of Richmond Village, Essequibo Coast, explained that she received the devastating news of her father’s sudden death from relatives in Region One.
The woman said that she learnt from persons in Moruca where her father was well known.
Gounga’s body was transported to the Suddie Funeral parlour to await a post mortem examination. The dead man leaves to mourn seven of eight children.
