The article headlined “Patentia shallow grave murder…Tenant accused of killing landlord ‘unfit to stand trial’” published in our December 4 edition inadvertently stated that it was Justice Brassington Reynolds who ruled that murder accused Andre Hurdle was unfit to stand trial.
It should be noted that it was a 12-member jury that returned the verdict that the accused was unfit to plead. Justice Reynolds had directed the jury who heard the psychiatrist’s testimony to determine whether the accused was fit or not to face trial.
Kaieteur News regrets the error.
