Returns to winning ways with victory at Rising Sun
The atmosphere was set the crowd was in and the ‘A’ and lower event lived up to all expectations. When it was done it was Score’s Even that crossed the finish line first.
Guyana’s only ‘A’ class racehorse, Score’s Even, of the Dennis DeRoop Simply Royal stable with Rad Drepaul on its back, kept it simple as it won the highly contested feature ‘A’ and lower 1400M event from a very competitive field to take the $1M purse and trophy compliments of Banks DIH Limited. CP Got even raced in second ahead of Princess She Not and Curfew Tower.
The event was hotly contested with Appealing Harvest and Royal She is Not going out early, with Score Even and Curfew in close order. The animals bunched as they approached the far turn with none letting up.
Score Even started to challenge around the far turn with CP Got Even moving into position into the homestretch. It was all score Even as it pulled away with CP Got Even recovering from a bad start making a late surge to finishing strongly in second. Princess She Not held on for third ahead of the newly imported Curfew Tower fourth. Another newly imported Plum Plum did not place.
Other winners saw Just call Me Boss of the Jagdeo stable winning a highly controversial three year old event from Unsettled of the Bacchus Stable. Midnight Blues of the Romell Jagroop Stable won the two year old event. Captain Crook was in winner’s row in the E and Lower event.
War Craft won the event for G3 and Lower horses. Mary Ann took top honours in the I and lower race. Royal Cash had a royal time by winning both the J1 and J3 races.
