Acting CEO of GPHC, Robby Rambarran and GLC’s General Manager, Tracey Lewis spread Christmas cheer among paediatric patients at the hospital.
Lottery Company hosted the second annual “Christmas Tree Light Up” for especially patients of the Paediatric and Maternity wards, yesterday.
Commemorating the event with the attendees were GPHC’s acting Chief Executive Officer, Robby Rambarran; General Manager of the Guyana Lottery Company, Tracey Lewis, and members of staff of Guyana Lottery Company and GPHC.
The towering Christmas Tree was placed on the lawns of the hospital, near the New Market street entrance where it can easily be viewed.
According to Rambarran, the initiative was implemented to spread Christmas cheer among paediatric patients (children) and their parents, so that they would not feel left out of the festive season.
He expressed appreciation to GLC for the second annual commitment to making the light-up a success.
“This initiative of Corporate Social Responsibility is beyond paragon; it is the demonstration of a company that does not wait to be asked, it simply steps in and offers,” he said.
Lewis noted that GLC will continue the Christmas tree Light-Up with GPHC in the coming years.
With the larger turnout this year, she noted that the event is bound to get bigger and better.
The gleeful children were treated with a variety of snacks and toys, along with musical entertainment provided by local renowned steel-pan artist, Colgrain Whyte.
