good time when it ran way with the feature G and Lower event when the Budhan Memorial Turf Club and Sports Complex of No 66 Village, Corentyne, Berbice successfully held their grand one day horserace meet on Sunday at the club’s entity at the above village.
Party Time, trained by Ramsaywack and spurred on by jockey Ajai Sansarran, started slowly before picking up speed and easing away in the one mile event to win the Budhan memorial trophy from Its Tricky and The Legend.
Quincy of the Zaheed stable with Prem Chandra on the hunch had things its way in the J3 and lower 6 furlongs event as it dusted its opponents to take the first prize and trophy from Speed Vision and Its My Time.
Smarty Light of the Velloza Stable with Randolph Richmond in the stirrups was too smart and good for Speed Vision as it raced away with the one mile event.
There was a dead heat in the K class 6 furlongs event as the judges could not decide on the winner between Royal Intention ridden by Michael Sancho and Sunny Silence piloted by Yap Drepaul. Running in third was Pick Pocket with Royal Stallion Fourth.
Turn About with Rodrigues riding ran a straight race as it gallop away with the 6 furlongs L1 and lower event. Survival King, Fit to Fight and Go Zapper occupied the other positions.
Sophia Choice of the Stewart Stable of Alness and ridden by Joshua made the right choices as it won the L2 and lower 6furlongs event from Red Region, It’s a Day and Another Day.
Map Head with Sancho on the hunch used it head to the best of advantage as it outsmarted all opponents in winning the L3 and lower race from Sudden Star, Sand Fly and Chestnut.
Jockey Michael Sancho was the top jockey on show with two wins.
Organiser Neville Budhan was happy and thanked all for the wonderful turn out and support on the day’s meet. The next event at the entity is slated for January 11th 2015.
