Led by outstanding bowling from Junior Duncan and Clyde Hoyte and unbeaten knocks
from Shemroy Barrington and Sunil Singh, Richard Latif XI overcame Boodhan Super Star by 10 wickets in a 20-over tapeball fixture on Sunday last at the National Park tarmac.
Duncan grabbed 3-13, while Hoyte claimed 3-20 to help bowl out Boodhan Super Star for 94 in 11.4 overs after they decided to bat. Only Troy Boye showed fight with 20 as Suresh Budhu supported in the bowling department with 2-13. Openers Barrington and Singh then blasted their team to victory in 7.1 overs without much hiccups. Barrington slammed 44 with five fours and two sixes, while Singh scored 41 inclusive of four fours and three sixes as their team finished on 96 without lost. Duncan was given the man of the match award, Barrington the most outstanding batsman prize and Hoyte the best bowler accolade. Both teams received trophies.
In an invitational match which followed, Boodhan Super Star rebounded to register a 30-run victory over the said opponents. Batting first Boodhan Super Star managed 96-4 off their allotted eight overs with S. Scott scoring 44. Latif XI replied with 66-5 in eight overs. Dexter George took two wickets.
