Dear Editor,
Kaieteur News November 18th November 2014, page 20, reported another drunken episode where Dave Kumar and another manager were locked up for urinating on the public road and abusing Policemen who were rebuking them.
The article refers to another drunken altercation with Kumar and an employee named Daniels which resulted in a total shutdown of Skeldon Estate for nearly one week. This cost the industry millions of dollars in losses but no one is accountable.
What is next? What would it take before management comes to its senses and let him go? Is the management pool at Guysuco so limited that no replacement can be found for Kumar? He must be keeping some BIG Secret for GUYSUCO and the Government.
He has to be the worst Manager in Guysuco’s long history. His behaviour was just shameful. The man needs to be in some rehab center. Instead, he is managing one of Guyana’s largest failed investments – the Skeldon Factory.
Does this make any sense? None of the workers in the Estate or anywhere have any respect for him; he has no respect for anyone, not the Police, the C.E.O. of Guysuco or Chairman of Guysuco. I wonder if he is part of the big turnaround plan.
Raj Singh and Sheik Baksh should be holding their heads in shame – but at the end of the day, he is their problem.
Moving him from one Estate to the next as they have been doing is not solving the problem. They both failed to do the right thing and take appropriate action against him when his altercation with Daniels caused the shutdown at Skeldon.
Let’s not forget this is Guyana where anything goes. Dave Kumar obviously has political connections, so he is untouchable. He would be allowed to ruin Skeldon Estate and Guysuco.
