A debt collector for Citizen’s Bank is claiming that he was prevented from doing his job due to the interference of Parliamentary Clerk Sherlock Isaacs. The debt collector, William Blackman, is alleging that Isaacs is refusing to part with a motor-vehicle that has been repossessed by his (Blackman’s) employer.
According to Blackman, the motor-vehicle in question has been in arrears for the past six months. The motor-vehicle was in the name of one Brendon Baird, and was repossessed then impounded this past Friday by police officials.
Blackman claims the motor-vehicle was subsequently removed from impoundment without his knowledge and without complete payment of debt. He says it was then found to be in the Parliament Building parking lot on Tuesday evening, where Isaacs refused to release the car to him.
Blackman, a former court marshal, related that the vehicle is not in Isaacs’s name and that he is confused as to how the Parliamentary Clerk has claim to it.
This newspaper understands that Baird occasionally lent the vehicle to Isaacs for hunting trips and that the two are friends. The debt collector said that he was unsuccessful in trying to contact Baird.
Blackman further alleged that even though he presented official documentation for the removal of the vehicle, Isaacs was still uncooperative in releasing it from the Parliamentary compound.
Blackman claims that on Wednesday afternoon when he sought to remove the vehicle again it was revealed that it was “missing”. He described the vehicle as a white pick-up with the licence number GSS 693.
The debt collector says that the bank intends taking the necessary legal action against the parties suspected to be involved the matter. (Nicholas Peters)
