North Georgetown swimmer, Kristen Odle competing in the open category turned in an excellent day’s
performance when the Ministry of Education and Guyana Teachers’ Union National Schools Swimming Championships came off on Tuesday last at the National Aquatic Centre, Lilliendaal, East Coast Demerara.
In the absence of Britany van Lange who is representing Guyana at the CAC Swimming championships in Mexico, Odle stamped her authority against her peers as she swam to three gold medals to help North Georgetown (District 11) to the overall title as they totaled 429 points.
Odle won the Girls Open 50m Freestyle in 37.06 comfortably ahead of Rupununi’s Vanda Cassiano (39.09) and Lavoan Williams of Essequibo Coast and Pomeroon who clocked 41.60.
In the 50m Breaststroke Odle clocked 53.93 to win ahead of Williams (59.95) and in the 50m Backstroke, she won in 47.88 from Cassiano (52.12) and Williams (56.82).
