respective Zones taking up the final two berths in the last 16 playoffs of the 2014 New Building Society Second Division 40 Over cricket competition in Berbice.
No. 64 Fighting Marines of Zone N (Upper Corentyne/Central) rattled up 225-7 in 30 overs against No. 69 Vikings with Trevor Thomas hitting 79 (6×4 3×6) and Jason Itwaru 50 (6×4 1×6). When the Vikings replied Itwaru came back with his off spin and took 4-18 to see them bowled out for 166 despite Wadihar Ramrattan’s 52 (2×4 3×6).
In Zone H, (East Coast/Lower Corentyne/West), Michael Cummings hit 65 not out (2×4 7×6) and Leroy Bristol 62 (2×4 5×6) to steer Courtland All Star to 238-6 in 35 overs against Fyrish who in reply was led by Chandradat Roopnarine’s 79 (8×4 4×6) and Munilall Shivdyal 54 (6×4 4×6) but they still fell short of the target by 10 runs.
