De Holy Book seh Jacob get off to a bad start in life. A book in Guyana seh Jagdeo get off to a bad start too. He was de only bai among all he sissy dem. When it came to business practices, he had more angles than a pyramid!
Jacob cheat his big buddy, Esau. Jagdeo cheat he sissy dem. Jacob cheat he father–in–law, Laban. Jagdeo smart he father in law. He tek de man daughter, do bamboo wedding and seh that he married she. Then he tell de whole world that he nah married de gyal.
One night,  de Angel of the Creatah show up in Jacob tent and Jacob wrestled with Him de daybreak. As the sun come up, the Angel said to him, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.”
But Jacob seh, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.” At that point the Angel tell he, he would no longer be called by his old name, Jacob, which means ‘deceiver’, but by his new name, Israel, which means a prince with de Creatah.
One night de devil visit Jagdeo in he mansion. Dem fight till daybreak. As soon as sun come up de devil seh to Jagdeo, “Let me go, de sun coming up.”
Jagdeo seh “I will not let you go unless you change me name.”
De devil seh, “You resemble me suh your new name will be ‘Shaitan’, de king of all devils.  You gun keep that name until a bigger scamp come to Guyana. You is a child of Satan.”
Guyana ain’t get no scamp bigger than Jagdeo who is no ordinary scamp. De devil couldn’t beat him. In fact, de devil run way and lef he.
Jacob thought making money would make him happy, but it didn’t; it almost cost him his family. Sound familiar?
But after wrestling with God he received a new name, a new nature, a new walk and a new future.
Jagdeo think mekking money would make him happy. It also cost him his family. All he sissy cussing he now. He got a new name, same nature, same walk and no future.
Babbie in de same boat. He too think money woulda mek he happy. He family lef he too.
Talk half and hope J is not fuh Donald Duck.
