The fourth annual Winston Murray Memorial Ten10 softball competition will commence on November 23 at the Guyana National Industrial Corporation ground. The knock out tournament which is being organized by Samuel Kingston has at stake a first place prize of $100,000 along with trophies and medals while the runner-up will pocket $60,000 and trophy.
The best batsman, bowler and fielder in the competition as well as the man-of-the-match in the final will also be rewarded. Defending champions Speedboat, Regal XI, Farm, Omesh XI, Young Guns, Leguan XI, Shakir XI and Parika XI are the teams set to battle for honours. The late Winston Murray was born in the Essequibo River Island of Leguan where he played the game as an opening batsman. He served as Chairman of the People’s National Congress Reform.
