CS&TC Tourism Month of activities…Dashana Reid and Shermon Gittens cart off spoils as inaugural event concludes

category when the Cavaliers Sports and Tour Club (CS&TC) staged a race in commemoration of Tourism Awareness Month, Sunday last.
Joanna Mackenzie finished just behind Reid, while Jennel Gildari closed off the podium spots in this category. President’s College student, Shermon Gittens continued his winning ways and carted off the honours in the men’s category. Enoch Ali and Akquly Henry finished in the 2nd and 3rd place spots respectively.
Meanwhile, the walkers will convene at CS&TC headquarters, Jennifer Major’s Residence, California Square, East Ruimveldt Housing Scheme, for an exhibition to commemorate Tourism Awareness Month tomorrow morning.
Then on Sunday next, the walkers convene at the inner circuit of the National Park for a 10K walk. Activities then move to the Mining Town Sunday November 30 when the walkers engage in another 10K race commencing at the Wismar end of the Linden Bridge, onto the Bayroc Recreational Centre, Wisroc for the finish.
The first three finishers in all of the events will receive trophies and medals donated Minister of Local Government Minister, Norman Whitaker, Hand in Hand Insurance and the Guyana Tourism Authorities.
