was early this month rendered homeless when the domicile in which he resided was completely gutted by fire. The fire occurred on November 3, the exact date that the very house was destroyed a year ago in the same way.
And like on the previous occasion, fire officials have not yet been able to ascertain the cause of the recent fire, leaving many to conclude that it was the result of mystifying happenings.
Williamson, who lived alone in a 20 x 25 residence at One and a Half Miles, Bartica, Potaro Road, reportedly lost everything in the fire. He is currently being accommodated by a friend.
However, he was eligible for some much needed support forthcoming from officers of the Bartica Police Station. Presenting the items to Williamson which included food hamper and mattress was Officer in Charge of the Bartica Police Station, Superintendent Rudolph Banwarie.
Even as he presented the endowment in the company of other senior officers of the Bartica Police Station, Banwarie related that the support could not have been realised without the financial input of some members of the business community.
Williamson is expected to secure additional support in the form of zinc sheets and other items to help him rebuild his home from the Bartica Interim Management Committee/Neighbourhood

Democratic Council (IMC/NDC).
It was not Williamson alone who was the recipient of much needed support in recent times. Having learnt that Simone Williams of the Bartica Secondary School would have been unable to write the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination, because of her parent’s inability to raise the needed funds, Officer Banwarie decided to solicit support to ensure the teenager was able to write the examination.
Williams wrote five CSEC subjects at the 2014 May/June examinations. At an emotional handing over ceremony the girl and her mother expressed immense gratitude for the financial aid.
The foregoing gestures are among a number of others that are consistently orchestrated by Officer Banwarie.
Similar activities are frequently done by the Bartica IMC/NDC as part of efforts to give back to the Region Seven community of Bartica.
