University of Guyana, Tain Campus second year Public Management Class will on Saturday host a fund raising three team T20 cricket tournament at the Rose Hall Estate Welfare ground. The event is being run to raise funds for the Class’ Research visit to Suriname next year.
The competing teams are Rose Hall Estate Cricket Club, University of Guyana Strikers and Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadgets (RHTG&G) first division side.
Rose Hall Estate and the UG Strikers would clash in the first match starting at 10:00hrs with the winner earning a date with Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadgets from 13:30hrs.
The Rose Hall Estate team would be spearheaded by Ameer Rahaman, Rocky Beepat, Sasenarine Sukhdeo, Kristoff Bahadur and Fawaaz Hoosein while West Indies Under-19 player Shimron Hetmyer would make a guest appearance for the UG Strikers.
Hetmyer would be supported by Vishal Mohabir, Linden Austin, Andy Mohan, Suresh Dhanai, Kassim and Urvash Shiwprasad.
The experienced RHTG&G will have in its line-up former national Under 19 Captain Shawn Pereira, former Windies ODI player Royston Crandon, Delbert Hicks, Akshay Homraj, Jason Sinclair, Eon Hooper, Clinton Pestano and Brandon Prasad.
The winning team, runner-up and man-of-the-final would all receive trophies among other prizes. An entrance fee of $300 would be charged for adults while children would pay $100.
