– plead with public to ID “man in black and red cap”
Police have released a video of the gunman who killed cashier/waitress Debra Blackman, in
the hope that this time around, someone can identify him.
The brief video shows the suspect – a man dressed in a grey jersey and black and red cap – standing by the counter of the ‘Delicious’ Restaurant and handing over money to Blackman. Two other young men also come to the counter, but police have suggested that they were not accomplices.
But as in photographs previously released by the police, the gunman’s features are somewhat blurred. Police reportedly have the technology to enhance CCTV images.
Blackman, 48, was shot dead on August 22, 2014, in the Delicious Restaurant, located in D’Urban Street, between Haley and Hardina Streets.
According to the Police, two men rode up to the restaurant on a motor cycle, and the pillion rider entered the restaurant paid for a meal, then shot Blackman in the neck before escaping.
Police have said that the gunman made no attempt to rob his victim.
