DEAR EDITOR,
The nation has been exposed to a vile and chilling display by an unapologetic power broker, the Attorney General of Guyana, who sincerely believes that his now sweet-tongue declaration will erase the bitter taste of disrespect and indecency that was left from his foul-mouthed rant that the whole world has heard.
We need not ask who this man thinks he is; he has boldly described himself as a thoroughbred, a warrior, a man who comes from a higher breed of people; a Chatri.
The conclusion in any respectable society would be the meaningful intervention of its Head of State. More often than not that would be the most powerful individual, and the one to, as they say, “bell the cat”. The problem in this case is that our nation’s leader is clearly unable to assert himself in situations that require toughness, impartiality and definitive action. Therefore, one must ask the pertinent question: If the person who is supposed to do it is weak and fearful, who will bell the Chatri?
